Fees
I am presently finishing my certification studies from Birth Arts International. As such, my fees will gradually increase with my experience attending births. The national average for a doula is between $300 and $1500. My present fee is $200 for those delivering in Galveston County and I will negotiate for those outside of my area. There are sites available that explain how doulas calculate their fees; I will be more than happy to share that information. My ultimate goal is to create a program for low income women to receive free doula care.

About Me
I am the mother of six children. My kids came to me though foster care, adoption, and birth. As a child, I was given an assignment to write about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told the teacher I wanted to be a baby doctor and she told me I could be a nurse. That did not sound quite as interesting, so I chose to be an artist. I also was a teacher for 12 years, am the director of Open Arms Campaign (a non-profit organization dedicated to the recruitment of foster and adoptive families), and have a patent pending on a sleeping wedge (Sleep Tight Wedge) for babies with various medical conditions. I lived in Mexico and speak some Spanish. I love gardening, bike riding with the kids, beachcombing, and leaving the world better than I found it.
